Our 3rd Annual Southern War of the Oars is set for May 28, 2016! Last year was a blast, and this year will be even bigger! The youth paddle begins at 9 a.m. immediately followed by a 1&2 mile race. After the individual races are over, participants can register for the YOLO Grande 6-person challenge!! Registration includes t-shirts and signature goodies. Don't be the last to join our fleet! Our YOUTH SUP CAMPS are avilable throughout the summer! We offer classes for all levels and ages...plus an opportunity to experience False River with a trained life guard and paddle instructor. (click on the "camps" button on the top of this page for more info!)
DO NOT forget the most legendary paddle cruise of its time, the FOURTH Annual FALSE RIVER PADDLE CLUB'S OXBOW PADDLE, which will take place on September 10, 2016! It's a fun cruise that spans False River from South to North. We stop at all the unique bar/grills on the River, including Bueche's, the Pelican Yacht Club and The Landing. Register here! About False River:
False River is a 10.5 mile-long oxbow lake located in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana. Its calm waters and connecting bayous make it one of the best spots to paddle in the state!
It is approximately 40 min. from Baton Rouge and1 hr from Lafayette.
